This policy describes what the Suena app does with your data. Suena is run by [PLACEHOLDER: legal entity or operator name], [PLACEHOLDER: business address] ("we"). Questions: support@getsuena.com.
The short version
- You don't create an account with a name, email or password to use Suena. The app gives you an anonymous account the first time you open it.
- We store what you do while learning (saved words, flashcard answers, what you watch) so the app can work and pick clips for you.
- You can delete your account and this data at any time in the app: Settings > Delete account.
Your account
On first launch the app creates an anonymous account with a random user ID. It doesn't ask for your name, email address or phone number. The sign-in for this account is kept in your iPhone's Keychain, so it stays on the phone even if you delete and reinstall the app. That means deleting the app does not delete your account or your data. Use Settings > Delete account for that.

What we collect and why

Please don't put personal details in the note on a report.
The app doesn't use your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
Kept only on your phone
The app also stores some things on the phone itself: your onboarding answers until they're saved, events waiting to be sent, your recent study days and clips, and small display settings. These go when you delete the app or your account.
Technical logs
Like any online service, our server providers keep technical logs of requests, which can include your IP address. [CHECK: what Supabase logs, including IP addresses in its auth and API logs, and how long it keeps them on our plan.]
Notifications
Onboarding asks whether you'd like reminders, and your answer is saved with your other onboarding answers. The app doesn't send notifications yet and collects no notification token. [CHECK: update this when reminders ship, including the day-6 trial reminder shown on the paywall.]
Who processes your data

These three services are planned but are not in the current app. This section must be confirmed before they ship.

We don't sell your personal data. [CHECK: confirm this still holds once AppsFlyer and Meta are in, and that it matches your App Store privacy answers.]
How long we keep it
We keep your account and learning data until you delete your account. There's no automatic deletion schedule today. [CHECK: abandoned anonymous accounts: cleanup is planned but not built. Set a period and state it here.] [CHECK: how long support emails are kept.]
Deleting your account and data
In the app, go to Settings > Delete account and confirm. This permanently deletes, straight away, your account and all your data listed above on our servers: saved words, flashcards and review history, known words, streak, usage events, practice answers, reports, settings and onboarding answers. It also clears the app's data on your phone. It can't be undone. The app then starts fresh with a new anonymous account.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID settings first; see Support.

Your rights
You can see most of your data in the app, change your level and goals in Settings, and delete everything with Delete account. For anything else, contact us at support@getsuena.com. Because accounts are anonymous, we may not be able to tell which account is yours from an email alone. [CHECK: the app doesn't show users their user ID, so decide how you'd verify a request. List the rights that apply to your users and any supervisory authority.]
Children
Suena doesn't ask for your age. [CHECK: set the minimum age, and match it to the App Store age rating and the Terms of Use.]
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections. Our database rules allow each account to read only its own personal data, and the app's sign-in is kept in the iPhone Keychain.
This website
This website sets no cookies and has no analytics. [CHECK: your web host may log visitors' IP addresses. Add it once the site is hosted.]
Changes
We'll update this page when the app's data practices change, and change the date at the top.
